About

PocketPlay Guides started as a group chat where a few of us swapped tips about whatever game we were stuck on that week. At some point the notes got long enough that it made more sense to put them on a proper site, so here we are. Everything you read comes from someone who actually sat down and played the thing.

We pick games based on what people are talking about and what we're genuinely curious to try. Sometimes that's a huge release everyone already knows, sometimes it's a small arcade game that quietly climbed the charts. We try to cover a mix of genres so the site isn't just one type of player talking to themselves.

A guide only goes up once at least one of us has spent real hours with the game. We note where we got frustrated, what the controls feel like, and whether the thing holds up after the first hour. If a game isn't good, we say so.

We're a small independent team. No publisher pays us to feature anything, and we're not interested in that arrangement. The whole point is that you can trust what you read here.
