Emberfall Chronicle
Emberfall Chronicle is the kind of RPG that respects your time on a phone. Battles are turn-based, you can speed them up, and the save-anywhere approach means you're never stuck in a dungeon when your bus arrives. Underneath the convenience there's a surprisingly solid combat system built around elemental weaknesses and positioning.
The story hooked me more than I expected. The writing is a bit earnest but the characters have real personalities, and the way party members comment on events makes the world feel lived-in. Leveling never felt grindy because every fight threw something slightly new at me.
If you like RPGs but bounce off the giant console ones, this is a great middle ground. It's generous with its systems without drowning you in menus.
