How we actually review a game
People sometimes assume review sites skim a trailer and churn out words. We don't work that way, and I want to be clear about how we do. Every game in our catalog got real playtime from at least one of us before a single line was written.
The first phase is just playing with no notes, letting first impressions form naturally. Then comes the deliberate pass where I track specific things: how the controls feel after an hour, where the difficulty spikes, whether the game respects my time or fights for my attention through pressure.
Only after all that do we write. The rating comes last, and it reflects the whole experience rather than one shiny feature. If something frustrated us, it goes in the review, because leaving it out would make the guide less useful.
Nobody pays us to be nice. The whole value of the site is that you're reading honest impressions from someone who sat down and played the thing properly. That's the entire deal.
